The Clifton Suspension Bridge, spanning the picturesque Avon Gorge, is the symbol of the city of Bristol. For almost 150 years, this Grade I listed structure has attracted visitors from all over the world. The bridge, based on a design by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, joins Bristol and North Somerset and it has its own visitor centre in Leigh Woods. If you want a guide across the bridge, you’re in luck: free tours of the bridge take place at 3pm every Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday between Easter and October. There's no need to book, either - simply meet a volunteer guide at the Clifton toll booth.
Bristol is home to two well-supported football clubs, Bristol City FC who are based just down the road from our Bristol storage facility, at Ashton Gate stadium, and Bristol Rovers who play their home games a little further afield in the suburb of Horfield. While these two teams may not quite have the status of the country’s very top teams, derby games between them are always entertaining.
